Steel Threaded Rod - A-307

A-307 All Threaded Rod is the most common grade used in the construction trades. It will meet the minimum requirements of ASTM A-36 steel. A-307 is threaded to a 1A tolerance. This will allow for a slightly looser nut fit which is helpful when dealing with field conditions and contaminants that may impede a thread.

Steel Threaded Rod - Grade 55

Grade 55 All Threaded Rod provides the higher tensile and yield strength of ASTM F1554 Grade 55 round bar.

• Tensile (ksi) 75 – 95
• Yield (ksi) 55 minimum

Also, as required by ASTM F1554 our Grade 55 All Thread Rod is threaded to a 2A nut tolerance. For example, using a 3/4” diameter bolt the tolerance gets tighter as shown;

Letter A indicates external thread.

1A min. / max. tolerance – 0.022”

2A min. / max. tolerance – 0.015”

3A min. / max. tolerance – 0.010”

All Grade 55 Threaded Rod is Melted and Made in USA.

Steel Threaded Rod - A449

ASTM A449 is a specification that exists outside of ASTM F1554. It is often seen on DOT projects. A449 steel is developed by quenching and tempering carbon steel round bar. The tensile strength requirements are adjusted based on diameter.

A449 up to 1” diameter – minimum tensile is 120 ksi

A449 greater than 1” up to 1-1/2” – minimum tensile is 105 ksi

A449 greater than 1-1/2 to 3” – minimum tensile 90 ksi

Threaded to 2A tolerance.

A449 Threaded Rod is Melted and Made in USA.

Steel Threaded Rod - B-7 or ASTM A193 B7

This is the strongest of the round bars in the F1554 specification. B-7 is mechanically equal to A-105 round bar. It is developed from hot rolled grade 4140, which is then heat treated to develop the required tensile and yield strength

• Tensile (ksi) 125 - 150
• Yield (ksi) 105 minimum

Threaded to 2A tolerance.

B-7 Threaded Rod is Melted and Made in U.S.A.

Stock is available in Plain Finish and Hot Dip Galvanized.

Zinc Plated and special finishes are available on request.
